DNA & Testing FAQs
Answers to some very common questions
-
The DNA test typically costs $99. I often have a special coupon code that can bring the price down to $29-$59. If a coupon is currently available, I will provide a code during our initial meeting.
-
No. You do not need a doctor’s order. You simply fill out a registration form and the testing kit will be sent directly to you.
-
I chose AncestryDNA for DNA collection and testing in an effort to make this process as easy and cost-effective as possible for my clients. DNA testing through AncestryDNA does not require doctors’ orders and typically costs less than $100. In comparison, other DNA testing labs usually charge $400-900 for the same raw data.
-
Possibly. Most DNA tests do not interpret each and every component necessary to determine the best approach for mold recovery. If you’ve already done a test with AncestryDNA or 23andMe, I will likely be able to use that raw data file. If you had a different DNA test, my ability to use those results will depend on the format of the raw data provided.
-
Absolutely! You can register and submit your test with any name that you choose.
-
You can easily delete your own AncestryDNA results at any time. Deleting your DNA results is permanent.
-
AncestryDNA provides broad, generalized reports that focus on heritage. I am able to extract information from the raw DNA data that relates directly to your health concerns, detox ability, and environmental resilience, and use this information to create your customized plan.
-
I completely understand. I would not be comfortable with that either. Please rest assured that I will not have access to your AncestryDNA account. The raw data file sent to me remains zipped while analyzed by the results engine. No personal identifying information is attached, and your submitted file is automatically deleted within 2 hours.
-
It typically takes about 4 weeks to receive the results, but that doesn’t mean that your healing will be on hold. After our initial meeting, I will provide you with important, initial steps for healing. Once these steps are completed, your results should be in!
-
I only review your raw data file. This means I see a list of your genetic markers — not your family tree, photos, personal messages, or any other private account information.
-
That’s a smart question. Unlike 23andMe, AncestryDNA has an entirely different client agreement. The company also provides the ability to easily delete your DNA data at any time.
-
I do not store, sell, or share your DNA file. Once I’ve completed your analysis and you’ve received your report, your file is securely deleted automatically.
-
No. Your privacy and trust are of the utmost importance. I do not sell or share any personal information, including your test results.
-
I do not extract this information. I focus on functional genetics — understanding how your body processes nutrients, toxins, and stress. My services do not include predicting or diagnosing diseases.
